Southborough Police charge two men after alleged discharge of firearm incident

Southborough – Southborough Police Chief Kenneth M. Paulhus released this statement this morning:

On 10/13/2018, at 2135 hours, the Southborough Police responded to 841 Madison Place for a report of a Disturbance in Progress.  After speaking with a male and female outside the residence, it was determined that someone had possibly discharged a firearm inside of apartment #841, and left the scene.  Further investigation showed the apartment owner was showing his pistol (H&K 9 mm) to a friend when the discharge occurred sending one round through an interior wall before lodging into an exterior wall in the same unit.  Three guns were seized from the residence along with a large number of ammunition boxes.  The Firearms License of the gun owner, Brett Mikolajczyk (age 25 of Southborough, MA), was later suspended by Shrewsbury Police where the license originated.

As a result of an investigation,  Criminal Applications have been requested for Mr. Mikolajczyk charging him with Improper Storage of a Firearm,140/131L/A, and for Mr. Aaron Howell (age 24 of Boston, MA) Discharge of a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building, 269/12E.

Both will be summonsed to appear at a later date in Westborough District Court.
