Community input sought for Town Center and former Beal School plans  Shrewsbury – Shrewsbury officials are asking the public to weigh in on with their opinions as they determine future plans for the town center and the former Beal School site.

“As part of our work with MassDevelopment for the Town Center and Beal Visioning study, we have issued a survey for our residents and business owners.  The survey is linked off the town’s homepage…We are going to be advertising this more widely over the next week,” shared Kristen D. Las, assistant town manager and economic development coordinator in an email to Shrewsbury department  heads on Oct. 18.

The survey was developed by representatives of the Provident, R.I.- based Horsley Witten Group and Union Studio, consultants who are carrying out a $50,000 Award the town recently received from MassDevelopment for the study.

They recently attended a joint meeting of the Beal Reuse Committee, the Planning Board, Historic District Commission and the Shrewsbury Town Center Association to begin discussions about the future of the Beal School site and the town center in general.

The survey is now active and it will help determine what the town wants in the downtown area. The link is: https://shrewsburyma.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=1134.

Of note: the last day to take the survey will be Tuesday, Nov. 6.

A public forum is planned for Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 5-7 p.m. at the Shrewsbury Fire Headquarters, located 11 Church Rd.
