Wanda BanksNorthborough – Wanda S. Banks, formerly of Brigham Street, passed away Oct. 26, 2018 at Fallbrook Woods Memory Care Facility in Portland, Maine. She was 73. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Arthur L. Banks Jr.

Wanda leaves behind her loving children, Linda Walker of Portland, Maine, Steven Banks of Bridgewater, Susan Collard of St, Albans, Maine, David Banks of Florida, and Nancy White of Atkinson, Maine. Wanda’s son, Ronald Ballou, predeceased her in 2017.  She also leaves six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Wanda also leaves her best friend of 60-plus years, Janice Streeter of Inverness, Fla., whom she loved dearly.

Born in Lincoln, Neb., Wanda lived most her life in Northborough.

Wanda worked as a home daycare provider for many years and loved those she cared for like her own.

Some activities Wanda enjoyed were camping in New Hampshire, feeding the birds -she especially loved her cardinals – watching her Red Sox baseball, shopping and lunches out with her friends, and her annual “girl’s week” trip to Florida.

Calling hours are Sunday, Nov. 4, from 12-2 p.m., at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. Her funeral will be held Monday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery.
