Marlborough – The popular, long-running fundraiser scheduled as a countdown to Thanksgiving continued Nov. 17 when the Marlborough Rotary Club presented its 36th annual Turkey Shoot in the cafeteria at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School.

Over 200 raffle items were donated by businesses, Rotarians and club supporters. Among the items were Amazon Fire 7 with Alexa Smart Pads, hotel stays, kitchen appliances, restaurant gift cards, sports game tickets, and many turkey baskets with all the fixings. A separate round of raffles offered children’s prizes including bikes.

Proceeds from the Turkey Shoot will help support the club’s charitable endeavors in the Rotary 2018-2019 year. A message in the event program from David Morticelli, the club’s 97th president, read in part, “’Service above self’ is more than just a motto; for Rotarians it’s a way of life. … Marlborough Rotary Club so greatly appreciates your support as we work together as a community to serve those in our community.”
