Marlborough – The 29th annual Evening of Giving, “Winter Fest,” will be held Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel, Route 20, Marlborough. Tickets for more than 1,000 are available for the event held in support of Roland’s House, the Marlborough-Hudson Homeless Shelter.

Chair Bob Kays and members of the committee extend an invitation to clubs, organizations, and the general public to attend the popular evening which will feature a generous supply of food prepared and presented by more than 25 local restaurants and hotels.

Anyone wishing to serve on the committee is welcome and may see Kays at the Prospector Bar and Grill on Lincoln Street or call Madeline Dupuis at 508-485-5705. Tickets are $30 a person; $300 for a table of 10. Reservations may be made by calling Dupuis.

Those attending are asked to bring personal items – soap, tooth brushes, toothpaste, socks, soap and shampoo – for Roland’s House and the Willis Family Shelter in Hudson. The annual raffle is being held with a first prize of $3,000; second prize, $1,000; and three $500 prizes. Music for listening and dancing pleasure will feature DJs Matt Ruffing and Steve Woodard.

Proceeds from the annual event, which traditionally total between $32,000 and $40,000 each year, will be presented to the South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC) supervisors of the shelter that helps hundreds suffering from drug and alcohol abuse. Roland’s House provides residency, tools and guidance needed by many men to rebuild their lives.
