Marlborough – Marlborough High School football players continued a fun tradition prior to this year’s matchup against Hudson High School when they posed next to wooden cutouts of their likenesses.
The tradition was started in 2015 after Jackie and Chip Plank, whose son Cameron was then a senior, got the idea from family members who had created cutouts for their high school team in Connecticut.
Parent volunteers traced the image of each player and then created the wooden life-size cutouts. Each senior posed next to a cutout that had their number on it and then signed the back of it.
Once the cutouts were finished they were displayed along Bolton Street on the land between the high school and the Marlborough Police Station.
The Panthers easily defeated Hudson, 43-14, as the two teams met up on Marlborough’s Kelleher Field on Thanksgiving morning.
