Shrewsbury – Susan P. Ramsay passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Nov. 28, 2018 after a long illness.
A 30-year resident of Shrewsbury, she leaves behind a devoted husband of 46 years, Ronald Ramsay, and four children, Shawn Ramsay and his wife Melanie of Hampden, Maine and Kristen Krystal and her husband Ric of Hampden, Maine, Annelle Benson and her husband John of West Boylston, and Megan Walker and her husband Scott of Oxford, as well as 13 grandchildren. She leaves one sister, Linda Trask and her husband Hal of Dover, N.H., and a brother-in-law, Donald Ramsay, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The daughter of Linwood and Virginia Pratt, Susan grew up in Damrascotta, Maine. After graduating from high school, Susan studied nursing at the Maine School of Nursing. She enjoyed a career in geriatric nursing for many years in Maine and here in Massachusetts. She touched many lives during her career.
Susan loved her family, sports, reading and spending time with her family at her special spot, the camp on The Big Narrows in Lincoln, Maine. Whether watching the grandchildren, playing in the water, running through the woods or roasting marshmallows, Susan always had a smile on her face. Her family brought her great joy and each member of her family will have memories to last a lifetime of her laugh and smile.
The family would like to thank the medical staff at UMASS Medical Center especially those on the sixth and seventh floor.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, at 10 a.m., at Wesley United Methodist Church, 114 Main St., Worcester, with a reception to follow at the church. A private burial will occur at a later date in Maine.
