Marlborough – Dorothy J. “Dottie” (Logan) Breen, 88, died Dec. 5, 2018 after a long period of failing health, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of James H. “Jim” Breen Sr., to whom she was married for 68 years.

Born in northeast Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Elwood P. and Florence R. (Shivery) Logan, and was a Marlborough resident along with her husband for the past 50 years.

Mrs. Breen worked as a service desk manager at Marshalls department store in Marlborough for over 20 years, and was known as “Mrs. Marshalls” by many friends of the family as she greeted everyone with a smile.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her three daughters, Carol Kilcourse of Hopedale, Cathy Jobes of Conway, S.C., and Ellen Santini of Waltham, as well as two sons, Jim Breen Jr. of Marlborough and John Breen of Berlin. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Brian Breen, who died in 1993. “Nana” also enjoyed her 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews who all loved her deeply.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m., in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery of Marlborough. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Dec. 12, from 4-7 p.m., in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St. Marlborough.
