Ilidio P. AraujoHudson – Ilidio P. Araujo, 67, of Hudson, passed away peacefully Dec. 13, 2018 at Mass General Hospital in Boston, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves his beloved wife of 43 years, Maria Gabriela (Viveiros) Araujo.

Ilidio was born May 27, 1951 in São Miguel, Azores, Portugal, one of the nine children of the late Agostinho Bento and Maria De Rosario Leite (Pereira) Araujo. Ilidio immigrated to Hudson in 1975, where he still resided with his family.

He worked in town for S & F Concrete and owned and operated Araujo’s Fish Market in Hudson.

Ilidio enjoyed watching soccer, especially his favorite team, S. L. Benfica. He also enjoyed spending time fishing, singing, and cooking for his family. Most of all, Ilidio loved spending time with his grandchildren as well as the rest of his family.

In addition to his wife, Maria Gabriela (Viveiros) Araujo, he was also survived by his three children, Alden O. Araujo, James D. Araujo, and Cassandra L. Correia and her husband Luis B., all of Hudson; eight siblings, Eduardo Araujo and his wife Zeneria, Fernanda Rodrigues and her husband John, Ines De Oliveira and her husband Nuno, Margarida Sa and her late husband Arthur Sa, Floriano Araujo and his wife Maria J., Lucia Vidal and her husband José, Fernando Jorge Araujo, and Venicio Araujo; seven grandchildren, Briana L. Araujo, Christian G. Araujo, Domonick J. Araujo, Mileigh G. Correia, Maleyla J. Correia, Julien J. Araujo and Leeam Ilidio Correia; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and those who were like children and grandchildren to him.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 17 at Saint Michael Parish of Hudson, followed by interment at Saint Michael Cemetery.
