Marlborough woman injured in mobile home fireMarlborough – A fast moving fire tore through a mobile home at Val’s Trailer Park in Marlborough, injuring one resident Sunday morning. The home, located at 25 Eldorado Drive was well involved upon the Marlborough Fire Department’s arrival. The first alarm was struck at 9:16 a.m. and recalled at 12:32 p.m.

Engine 3, Engine 1, Rescue 1, Tower 1 and Car 5 responded to the fire, along with Cars 2 and 3.  The fire was a stubborn one to fight, due to the amount of furniture and other contents in the home. The resident was able to escape through a window.  She had smoke inhalation and some burns and was transported to UMass Medical Center in Worcester.

According to Battalion Chief Brian Gould “the home was well involved arrival, with heavy fire in the front section of the mobile home”.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Marlborough Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Unit (FIU) and the Office of the State Fire Marshal.  A fire watch was set up while the investigation was being conducted.

Code Enforcement Officer Pamela Wilderman stated that the home was a total loss.
