Gloria J. TurnerShrewsbury – Gloria J. (Clark) Turner, 66, of Shrewsbury, died suddenly Dec. 30, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Worcester and raised in West Boylston, daughter of Langdon S. Clark and Marion J. (Nichols) Clark. She graduated from West Boylston High School, and later continued her education at Fisher College and received an Associate’s degree in Accounting.

Gloria met her future husband, James R. Turner, on a blind date and married in 1974. They built a home in the town they so loved, Shrewsbury, and lovingly raised their two daughters. Gloria had worked a majority of her career as an accountant before retiring in 2016.

When not working or caring for her grandchildren, Gloria enjoyed camping with family and friends, cross stitch, crocheting, woodworking, and she became the ultimate crafter and “collector of things.” She also volunteered her time as the Mother Advisor to the Bancroft Assembly of the IORG and crocheting blankets and hats for Project Linus and hats and mittens for Veterans.

Gloria leaves her husband of 44 years, James R. Turner; two daughters, Wendy A. Turner and her fiancée Michael White and Lori B. Turner, all of Shrewsbury; four grandchildren, James D. Turner and Alexandrea, Charlotte and Jacob Moura, all of Shrewsbury; her mother, Marion J. (Nichols) Clark of Westborough; a brother, Donald Clark and his wife Jeanine of Florida; two sisters, Beverly Pryor and her husband Roger of Michigan and Jennifer Clark and her significant other Justin of Maine; and a nephew, James Pryor and his wife Deva of Georgia. Besides her father, she was predeceased by a nephew, Donny Clark, and a son-in-law, Jose Moura Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Gloria’s family Friday, Jan. 4, from 5-8 p.m., in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. Her funeral will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 5, at 10 a.m., in the funeral home, followed by burial in Worcester County Memorial Park of Paxton.
