Hudson – Carolee J. (Sousa) Sullivan, 87, passed away Jan. 15, 2019.

A Hudson native, but longtime Marlborough resident, Carolee is survived by her husband of 66 years, Donald R. Sullivan. She was the youngest child of Rose (Cabral) and Joseph D. Sousa of Hudson.

Carolee was a graduate of Hudson High School, class of 1947. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Framingham State University.

She was a respected educator who taught in the Marlborough Public Schools for 28 years, primarily at the Hildreth School.

Carolee was an accomplished pianist, an avid gardener, and a voracious reader.

In addition to her husband, Carolee Sullivan leaves two daughters, Beth Chase of Douglas and Susan Sullivan of North Andover, and a son, Brian J. Sullivan and his wife Karen of Atlanta. She also leaves five grandchildren, Lauren Yurkus of Holden, Jamie Galvin, also of Holden, Kimberly Robinson of Winder, Ga., Ryan Sullivan of Alexandria, Va., and Kelly Sullivan of Denver, Colo. Carolee was also a great-grandmother to Kyla, Brooke, Marlowe, Kelsey, Quinn, and James. She also leaves a sister, Helen Lawrence of Fairfax, Va., and a brother, Robert Sousa of Hudson. In addition to her parents, Carolee was predeceased by several brothers and sisters and her son-in-law, James Chase.

Per Carolee’s wishes, all services will be private. She will be laid to rest at the Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson.
