Shrewsbury – Jonjy Ananth, a resident of Shrewsbury, recently received a citation from the Mass. Senate for exemplary volunteer services to the Indian American community. His volunteer activities include over 1,000 hours annually helping victims of domestic violence by accessing shelter, providing food, accessing free legal assistance, and maintains liaisons with local police. As a community volunteer, he works closely with municipal, state, and federal officials to help them connect with the South Asian community.
“Volunteering is my mission and helping people is my passion,” he said. “I am dedicated to enhancing others’ lives including our fast growing South Asian community in the commonwealth of Massachusetts.”
“I would like to thank Senate President Karen Spilka and State Sen. Michael Moore for their support of the Indian American community,” he added.
