Westborough – The Westborough High School Rangers hockey team squared off against the Algonquin Regional High School T-Hawks Feb. 16 for this year’s annual Matt Bruce Cup. In the end Algonquin took home the trophy winning the match 3-0.

This year Chief Jeff Lourie of the Westborough Police Department and Chief Bill Lyver of the Northborough Police Department both took part in the Ice Bucket Challenge in honor of Matt Bruce, a 2005 graduate of Algonquin and resident of Northborough. Bruce lost his battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) on March 21, 2014 at the age of 26.

Proceeds from the Matt Bruce Cup will be donated to Umass Celluci Fund for ALS.
