Grafton – On March 12, Mackenzie Maynard of the Roger Williams Park Zoo captivated the preschool students of South Grafton Elementary School with the Zoomobile program, “Getting Around (Animal Movement).” The students were eager to learn all the ways that animals move to get around. The preschoolers were particularly transfixed when they were able to observe a live corn snake named “Cornelius” slither around Mackenzie’s arm. Much to their delight, they were able to touch and pet both a tenrec (similar to a small hedgehog) named “Lacey” and a rat named “Bubble.” The program was sponsored by the South Grafton PTO.
