To the Editor:
John Samia has proven to be a leader who values feedback and collaboration. In his time on the school committee, he instigated the conversation in focusing on a five-year budget plan to better prepare the district for challenges ahead; this contribution resulted in better communication with stakeholders and a deeper understanding of how the budget impacts the lives of citizens in a personal way. This foundational knowledge of town finances will be a key strength he will bring to the role of Selectman. A consensus-builder, he will listen to the concerns and questions citizens have, whether it is water or infrastructure or the needs of seniors, and then make thoughtful and responsible decisions based on that feedback and on the information he has gathered. As a former colleague of his, I know he is first and foremost a problem-solver. He is tireless in his pursuit of solutions, open to feedback and criticism, and committed to people he is serving. I have no doubt that his experience, both in his work and in the town, will make him an effective and discerning member of the Board of Selectmen. Please join me in voting for John Samia for Selectman on Tuesday, May 7th!
