Lakeway Commons to host free Earth Day eventShrewsbury – Grossman Development Group, LLC (GDG) and Lakeway Commons will partner with Shrewsbury Electric & Cable Operations (SELCO) for the first annual free Earth Day event Saturday, April 27.

The event will take place at the 193 Boston Turnpike plaza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  With proof of residency, Shrewsbury residents will receive a complimentary tree and cooler bag from SELCO, as well as their choice of an herb plant from GDG/Lakeway Commons. There will also be a fun craft for kids to participate in and electric vehicle demonstrations.

“SELCO has given away more than 8,000 trees since we began this program back in 2005,” said Jackie Pratt, Marketing & Customer Care Manager for SELCO. “This will be our 15th year giving away seedlings and we are very excited to be partnering with Lakeway Commons to put a new twist on a tried-and-true event.”

Many of the businesses in Lakeway Commons will also be offering their own giveaways promotions and discounts. The 14 participating locations will be Atlantic Poké, Burtons Grill, Cherry Blow Dry Bar, Club Pilates, Jenny Boston, LunchboxWax, Massage Envy, Orangetheory Fitness, Shrewsbury Dentistry, The Lash Lounge, Tile Works, UniBank, Whole Foods & Tavern in the Square.

“We were thrilled to be approached by SELCO to partner in this wonderful event,” GDG President & Managing Principal Howard Grossman said. “We are also happy that so many of the Lakeway Commons tenants have decided to participate and look forward to a wonderful day appreciating the Shrewsbury residents.”

Lakeway Commons is located on Route 9 West, before the Kenneth Burns Bridge.
