The Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest to host 75th anniversary celebrationMarlborough – 2019 marks the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest’s (BGCMW) 75th year serving youth in the MetroWest community. First established in 1944 as the Marlborough Boys Club, Inc., the organization has grown over the years to meet the increasing demand for quality youth services in Marlborough and surrounding towns. Today, BGCMW operates three Clubhouses in Marlborough, Hudson and Framingham serving more than 3,200 youth annually. BGCMW’s mission is to provide social, educational, physical and cultural programming for boys and girls in the MetroWest area. The intent of these programs is to enhance the development of children and to prepare young adults to be responsible and productive members of the community.

“We are proud to be celebrating such an important milestone for our organization,” said Chris Duane, president of the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest. “Without the generous support of our donors and community partners, our programs would not be as impactful as they are today. We are excited to see where the future will take us.”

On Thursday, May 16, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., BGCMW will be hosting a 75th Anniversary Celebration at its Clubhouse in Marlborough, located at 169 Pleasant St. The open-house event will include appetizers, courtesy of Evviva Trattoria and 110 Grill, a Club Tour, and the opportunity to meet Club members and learn about the Clubs’ out-of-school programs. Entry to the celebration is free and members of the MetroWest community are welcome to attend. You may make a donation, view sponsorship opportunities or RSVP to the 75th Anniversary Celebration by visiting http://www.bgcmetrowest.org/75th-anniversary-celebration/.

To generate excitement for the 75th Anniversary, BGCMW has launched a “75 Stories” Campaign. The campaign is designed for members of the community to post a favorite memory of the Club on their social media pages with the hashtag #BGCMW75. Whether you are a Club alum, parent of a Club member, or supporter of the organization, you are encouraged to share your story. Be sure to tag Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest in your posts. These stories will be featured on BGCMW’s social media pages and at anniversary celebration events.
