To the Editor:
I wholeheartedly endorse John Samia in his candidacy for a seat on the Board of Selectmen in Shrewsbury. John put a great deal of thought into his decision to run; he wanted to be certain making such an important commitment was the right time for himself, his family and our town.
John has been actively preparing for this role long before he announced his candidacy. He met with town leaders and department heads to obtain detailed information about the various strengths and needs of Shrewsbury. He personally contacted Town Meeting members to discuss his vision for our town and seek input about what is important to them and their constituents. John has been knocking on voters’ doors to introduce himself and listen to their concerns about Shrewsbury.
One of John’s goals is to develop long-term priorities for our town, which would include a flexible five-year budget plan. Implementing a strategic long-term strategy with the town’s priorities in mind will make the best use of Shrewsbury’s finances and result in a stronger community as a whole.
When he is elected and sworn in, John will be ready to hit the ground running as a knowledgeable, dedicated and active member on the Board of Selectmen. Please join me in voting for John Samia on May 7, 2019.
