Alan J. BaldwinHudson – Alan “Hopper” J. Baldwin, 69, of Hudson, passed away peacefully, May 10, 2019 at Framingham Union Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, after a period of declining health. He leaves his beloved wife of over 46 years, Karen M. (Cole) Baldwin.

He is also survived by his children Steven Baldwin, Stacey Baldwin and Scott Baldwin along with Kelly and Mark Baldwin; sisters Pam Matte and Maureen LeBlanc and her husband Paul; grandchildren Austin and Dylan Baldwin, Rebecca, Brian and Laura Pittman; mother-in-law Ruth Cole; and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Alan was born July 12, 1949 in Lowell, the son of the late Ellsworth J. and Rita (O’Brien) Baldwin. Alan graduated from Lowell High School and later met the love of his life Karen M. (Cole) Baldwin, eventually marrying Sept. 13, 1972, embarking on a 46-year journey of love and support together. Shortly after, they moved to Maynard, where they resided briefly before moving to Marlborough and eventually settling in Hudson, where they still currently resided.

Alan was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed many activities such as fishing, hunting, camping and working in his yard. He cherished his time with his grandchildren and especially loved teaching them how to fish at Tripps Pond and vacationing on Lake Winnipesauke. He was a lifelong Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan and also enjoyed watching reruns of his favorite sitcoms such as the Three Stooges. Alan had a giant heart and loved all animals, sharing his home with the many dogs and pets that he adopted through his life.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation Sunday, May 19, from 3-5 p.m., at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, immediately followed by a Celebration of His Life at 5 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at a later date.
