John Drummey Jr.Marlborough – John Daniel Drummey Jr., 80, of Marlborough, died May 19, 2019 in Northborough.

He was the son of the late John D. Drummey Sr. and Lillian F. (McGee) Drummey and the husband of Gloria (DeAngelis) Drummey, to whom he had been married since 1959. He was also the brother of the late Tom Drummey, Barbara Drummey, and Mary Messier.

After graduating from Marlborough High School in 1957, he went on to work as a meat cutter and sausage maker. He began his career with A & P, also working at Co-Op and Romeo’s before retiring from Leroux Meats in Holden.

A lifelong resident of Marlborough, John was a Celtics and Red Sox fan, but his greatest joy was being “DAD” to his family and watching them participate themselves in sports. He also loved celebrating Thanksgiving with his family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Andrea Reger of Hubbardston, Deborah Hughes of Gardner, John D. Drummey III and his wife April of Marlborough, Patrick Drummey and his wife Martha of San Diego, Calif., Mary Garvin and her husband Michael of N. Brookfield, Michael Drummey and his wife Ayako of Shrewsbury, Martin Drummey and his wife Deborah of Marlborough, Theresa Lawler and her husband John of Blackstone, Tim Drummey and his partner Katelyn of Marlborough, and Erin Brown and her husband Randy of Shrewsbury. John is also survived by his grandchildren, James Drummey, Thomas Blasko, Jessica, Rachel, Blair and Dean Drummey, Cullen and Blake Lawler, Trinity, Mackenzie, Cade, Max, Bailey and Cambre Brown and Matt Reger.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, May 24, from 5-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 25, at 10 a.m., at St. Matthias Church, Hemenway Street, Marlborough. Burial will be held at a later date.
