Marlborough – The Marlborough Police Department released this statement this afternoon:

On Thursday May 30, 2019, at approximately 12:19 pm the Marlborough Police Department responded to several 911 calls regarding a serious motor vehicle accident on Bolton Street at the intersection with Blaiswood Ave. Upon arrival with the Marlborough Fire Department, officers located a heavily damaged vehicle which had been travelling northbound, had left the roadway, struck a telephone pole, then a stone wall, and landed upside down in the lawn of a neighboring residence. The operator was trapped in the vehicle and had sustained fatal injuries. Medical personnel assessed the victim and pronounced him/her deceased at the scene. The identity of the operator will be withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Collision Reconstruction unit was notified and responded to the scene to continue investigating the accident. At this time, Bolton Street is completely impassable and traffic is being detoured through surrounding streets and communities. The incident is still under investigation and the Marlborough Police Department will continue to work with the CEMLEC Collision Reconstruction unit, the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in an effort to understand the contributing factors to this incident.
