Northborough – A pet is a significant member of your family. Molly Pazareskis, the owner of Canine, Feline & More Pet Sitting knows that who you choose to take care of your pet when you can’t is extremely important.
“I grew up around animals,” said Pazareskis. “I had five cats, three dogs, one horse and fish.”
That love of animals and wanting to provide a service to people made the decision to start her own pet sitting business easy.
Pazareskis has over seven years of pet sitting experience. She previously worked for another company, but is now excited to move forward with her own Northborough-based business.
Her experience is varied.
“Nothing holds me back,” she said. “I have taken care of sheep, cows and chickens.”
If a client has an unusual pet to care for or a pet that requires unusual care, Pazareskis is willing to learn the care routine to ensure a high comfort level for the client.
Her client base is typically pet owners who work during the day or are away for vacation and their pets need to be taken for a walk, fed or just have playtime.
She is flexible in emergency situations, such as when a client is stuck in traffic and unable to be home on time or when a client may be recovering from surgery and unable to walk the dog.
Pazareskis understands the importance of maintaining a connection with clients while their pets are under her care. She will always meet the client and pet before any contract is signed.
“For daily visits, I leave notes for the owner,” she said. “If the owner is away, I will text, and send photos and videos.”
Pricing depends on the number of pets to care for and what is involved, such as medication administration. She also offers rates for house sitting for those pets needing companionship and care overnight and when the owner wishes to have the pet remain in familiar surroundings.
Typically, rates are $20-$35 per visit and overnight sitting is $55-$65.
Although the majority of her clients are in Northborough and surrounding towns, Pazareskis can be available to help with pets outside of the area for an additional charge.
One of her goals for the business is to grow in the next year and be able to hire another sitter.
She is Pet CPR certified, insured and can provide references.
