Westborough – Weather cooperated June 1 for the Westborough High School (WHS) class of 2019 to enjoy a spirited graduation ceremony outdoors on the athletic field. There, 269 diplomas were presented along with scholarships totaling $120,000.

Forewarning another “mom speech,” Superintendent Amber Bock complimented the class of 2019 for being “amazingly polite and well-mannered.” The graduates successfully coaxed Principal Brian Callaghan to sing his musical message, inspired by country duo Florida Georgia Line’s “Simple” lyrics. School Committee Chair Sara Dullea encouraged the graduates to relish their final moments together.

Valedictorian Arina Khotimsky shared her appreciation for memories created by faculty, family, townspeople and classmates. Class President Omar Siddiqui good-humoredly advised classmates by quoting the “Legally Blonde” film character Elle Woods: “Being true to yourself never goes out of style.”

Music was provided by the WHS Band conducted by Evan Doyle, and the Senior Choral Union under the direction of Alyson Greer Espinosa.
