Shrewsbury – Town Manager Kevin Mizikar is currently seeking qualified individuals to serve on two commissions and one board.
Commission on Disabilities – Three year term to expire on June 30, 2022. This Commission consists of seven persons appointed for staggered terms and is responsible for advising the community on issues associated with disabled persons. Board of Sewer Commissioners – Three year term to expire on June 30, 2022.
The Board is comprised of three members appointed by the Town Manager for a term of no longer than three years. The Board, established under Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 41, Section 63, acts upon abatements and petitions for sewerage, reviews and approves all applications for sewer extension permits, and reviews the financing of proposed construction.
The Sewer Commission is also responsible for the implementation, administration, and
enforcement of the storm water management by-law. Under this by-law, the Commission will
also be responsible for the development, implementation, administration, and enforcement of a
storm water utility.
The Board meets on the second Monday of the month, at 7 p.m. at Town Hall. The Commission
acts upon abatements, petitions for sewerage connection, and financing proposed construction.
