Hudson – Led by the stellar pitching of senior Sophia Togneri, the Hudson High School girls’ softball team won the Division 2 state championship in a game played in Worcester June 22 against Gloucester High School.
Togneri was, as she has been all season, calm and composed, holding off a fierce rally from the Fishermen in the bottom of the seventh inning. The final score of 4-1 gave the Hawks their first state title since 2010.
