Region – Recently Binkeez for Comfort received a grant of $25,000 from the Portas Family Foundation. This grant will help bring the Binkeez for Comfort mission to multiple children’s hospitals throughout North Carolina.
Binkeez for Comfort, based in Shrewsbury, is a Guidestar Platinum-accredited 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide blankets to babies and children struggling to survive life-threatening illnesses, acute developmental and mental disorders and severe burns, all the while offering support to parents, siblings and caregivers. It is because of generous donations and grants that Binkeez for Comfort is able to provide comfort to hospitals across the nation.
The Portas Family Foundation’s grant will provide comfort to over 1,000 children suffering an acute medical crises at Hemby Children’s Hospital, Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital and other children’s hospitals in North Carolina.
