Judith ButlerMarlborough – Judith Irene Butler, 72, died in peace and comfort at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on July 29, 2019.

Judy was born in Waltham, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Edith (Stacey) Sicotte. She grew up in Waltham, married Ralph H. Butler, became a dental hygienist, and raised her two sons in Marlborough. After raising her boys, she returned to school, receiving straight As at Assumption College and graduating Valedictorian of her class in 1989. She worked for Mercury Computer and Edward Jones.

As progressive Alzheimer’s affected her life, she was cared for by her friend, Jim Porter. Judy loved to learn and read, spend time with friends, and share a good joke. She loved to laugh, and she loved her boys.

Judith is survived by her son, Daniel E. Butler and his wife Jen Cunningham Butler of Arlington; her brother, Edward Sicotte and his wife Linda of Franklin; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Maureen Butler of Marlborough; her sister-in-law, Jeannine Davis of Beverly Hills, Fla.; her sister-in-law, Doreen Sicotte of Swanzey, N.H.; and her daughter-in-law, Christine Butler of Marlborough. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Samantha Laurette Butler.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, August 8, from 4-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral service will be held Friday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m., at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough.
