Region – The Nashoba Symphonic Band (NSB), now entering its fourth season under the direction of David W. Bailey, will begin rehearsals for the 2019-2020 performance season Thursday, Aug. 29, at 7 p.m. in the Nashoba Regional High School Band Room, 12 Green Road, Bolton. The 100-plus member multi-generational community concert band is open to woodwind, brass and percussion players and performs a wide variety of music, from the classical standard band repertoire to music from film and stage scores and marches.

Wind, brass, and percussion players with experience at the intermediate or advanced high school level are encouraged to join, especially section clarinets and trumpets, bass trombone, euphonium, and versatile percussion. No auditions are necessary; interested students, eighth grade and up, need a recommendation from a school music director or private lesson instructor. Musicians who are thinking about joining NSB and would like an opportunity to review some of the season’s pieces prior to the first rehearsal should contact Bailey at [email protected]. Open rehearsals for potential new members will take place Thursdays, Aug. 29 and Sept. 5.

Nashoba Symphonic Band, a program of Nashoba Friends of Music, is an instrumental ensemble of over 100 musicians of all ages from more than 30 towns in central Massachusetts and the Greater Boston area. Rehearsals take place most Thursday evenings from 7-9 p.m., in the NRHS Band Room. The ensemble performs five concerts each season. New members are welcomed at open rehearsals on the Thursday immediately following each concert.
