Hudson – Over 2,000 residents from throughout the region enjoyed pleasant summer weather Aug. 10 while satisfying their taste buds at the seventh annual Spirit of Hudson Food & Brewfest on the grounds of Hudson-Concord Elks Lodge 959. Proceeds from the popular fundraiser go to community service projects and scholarship funds of Hudson Rotary Club and Rotary Club of Nashoba Valley.
Festival-goers roamed around five tents covering 24,000 square feet to sample food and desserts offered by 19 eateries from Hudson, Marlborough and Acton. Numerous craft beers and other beverages were available from 85 breweries including Hudson’s Ground Effect and Medusa, and Marlborough’s Lost Shoe and Strange Brewery.
A number of guests worked up appetites by playing field games including cornhole sponsored by Avidia Bank. Adding to the ambience, Aubuchon Hardware sponsored music provided by deejay Michael Bernier of Evolvement Music. Bottled water was sponsored by HomeWorks Energy, Inc.
As a new perk this year, guests went home with souvenir beer glasses donated by Horseshoe Pub & Restaurant and Lemire Insurance Agency. Major event sponsors were Apex Entertainment, Community Advocate, Hudson-Concord Elks Lodge 959 and Nashoba Blue Digital Imaging. Supporting the event with onsite booths were Main Street Bank, Orangetheory Fitness and Workers Credit Union.
