Children’s Events
Jedi Knight Training with Jungle Jim, Saturday, Aug. 17, from 11 a.m.- noon
The Jedi Knight will lead children through a series of challenges including Jedi Force Magic, the Laser Balloon Barrage and Jedi Teamwork Training, all culminating in an epic lightsaber duel with the Jedi Master himself. Ages 3 and up, with a caregiver.
Star Wars Sundaes, Saturday, Aug. 17, from 12-1 p.m. All ages welcome.
Movie screening of “Muppets from Space” (Rated G), Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 2:30 p.m. Snacks provided.
The Tween Arts Exploration Summer Series will conclude with a reception Thursday, Aug. 22 at 5:30 p.m. Come and browse the artwork, contribute to a commemorative group canvas, and enjoy some light refreshments. No registration is required.
Teen Events
Painting Your Travel Photos, Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 2:30-4 p.m. The instructor will teach you how to paint a landscape or seascape in an impressionist style with color, light and texture. Please bring in your travel photos and an apron. For grades 6-12. Registration is required.
Teen campfire movie screening, Thursday, Aug. 15, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The library will create a cozy campfire atmosphere in Bigelow Auditorium with lanterns, glow sticks, and fairy lights. Gather around the (fake) campfire, have pizza, and make s’mores while watching “Guardians of the Galaxy” (PG-13). Grades 6-12. Please pre-register.
Anime Club Movie Night, Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Enjoy “Your Name” (PG), a movie about a comet that changes two young people’s lives forever. Grades 6-12. Please pre-register.
