Hudson – Purple flags representing 80 overdoses in Hudson since January 2016, both fatal and nonfatal, were placed Aug. 29 on the Town Hall front lawn to be displayed through Labor Day weekend in observance of International Overdose Awareness Day (Aug. 31). These individuals lived, worked, played or worshipped in the Hudson community.
The first-time community service project was organized by Hudson Youth Substance Abuse Prevention (YSAP) Coalition and Hudson Health Department. Signage at the display states, “These flags are meant to represent the community members who have experienced overdoses since 2016, and to raise awareness of the disease of addiction.”
