Westborough – With summer rapidly winding down, Westborough officials are starting to think about snow; or more to the point, snow removal on sidewalks.
According to officials, there was a previous bylaw that required property owners and tenants to clear their sidewalks. That bylaw was rescinded in 1998. But in recent years, the failure of property owners to remove snow and ice from sidewalks near residential and commercial properties, especially where school children need to walk, is causing them to see if it should be reinstated.
On Thursday, Sept. 12, the Board of Selectmen will be holding a public meeting at 6 p.m. at Town Hall to discuss this issue.
