Manuel E. BatistaHudson – Manuel E. Batista, 92, of Hudson, passed away peacefully Sept. 21, 2019, surrounded by his loving family, at Marlborough Hospital after a period of declining health. He leaves his beloved wife of 62 years, Olga (Calvao) Batista.

Manuel was born June 18, 1927 in Hudson, the son of the late Manuel and Filomena (Batista) Esteves.

A lifelong Hudson resident, Manuel was a longtime member of Saint Michael Parish, the Hudson-Concord Elks Lodge #959, and the Hudson Portuguese Club. He was an avid golfer and gardener and also enjoyed woodworking in his retirement.

Manuel is survived by his beloved wife, Olga; two daughters, Laura J. Bertonassi and her husband Mark of Hudson and Teresa M. McCook and her husband Christopher of Georgia; his sister, Rita Stone; his brother, Joaquin Esteves and his wife Marie; five grandchildren, Sara Jacobson and her husband Matt, Beth Bertonassi, Jack Bertonassi and his wife Ashley, Samuel McCook, and Zachary McCook; his great-granddaughter, Catherine Jacobson; and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Manuel’s wishes there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Sept. 30, at 9 a.m., at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson, followed by a procession to Saint Michael Cemetery for interment.
