Hudson – The Collings Foundation and American Heritage Museum will host a WII re-enactment and WWII veterans’ roundtable on Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 13 at the museum and Foundation’s headquarters, 568 Main Street, Hudson.

The Battle for the Airfield WWII reenactment takes place both days – there will be two battles per day, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The veterans’ roundtable discussion will start at 1 p.m.

Over 350 re-enactors representing several branches of Allied and Axis military will be participating. Fully restored military equipment of all kinds will be on display and operating in a captivating living history event. Allied and Axis camps will be set up with authentic materials and appearance. Re-enactors will act as docents sharing a wealth of information about life as a WWII military person.

The new American Heritage Museum will be open during the Battle for the Airfield weekend. The Museum features one of the largest collections of tanks and armored vehicles in the United States. Over 85 artifacts will be on display, including the rare WWII German Panther tank, a combat veteran Russian IS-2 tank, an Iraqi SCUD missile and the only publicly displayed M1A1 Abrams tank in the world.

The cost at the gate is $35 for adults and $20 for children. Discounted rates with tickets purchased online. At location parking subject to close if at capacity. It is recommended arriving one hour prior to each reenactment. For more information call 978-562-9182.
