Gloria M. GencoNorthborough – Gloria M. (Cullati) Genco, 94, a longtime resident of Northborough and formerly of Duxbury,  passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 5, 2019. She was the devoted wife of 54 years to John J. Genco until his death in 2010.

Gloria was born in Boston and raised in Brighton,  a daughter to the late Frank and Louise (DeFrancisco) Cullati. Gloria is survived by her four loving children, Joan Scheffler and her husband Robert of Dedham, Carol Jakobsons and her husband Ivars of West Newbury, Patricia Martin of Northborough and John “Jack” Genco, Jr. and his wife Cynthia of W. Falmouth. Gloria also leaves her eight grandchildren, Laura Howarth, Mathew Jakobsons, Robert Scheffler, Timothy Martin, Holly Jakobsons, Jennifer Genco, Jillian Genco Mcilvain and Cassie Martin; a great granddaughter, Rylan Howarth and many nieces and nephews.

Gloria enjoyed the ocean, time on the beach with her family, and flowers, the Rose of Sharon being her favorite.  She was an avid reader, found pleasure in a good game of golf and was an excellent cook. Most important to her was her beloved family.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Gloria’s family on Thursday, October 10 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 11 at St. Rose of Lima Parish, 244 W. Main Street, Northborough.  Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
