Avidia Bank announces partnership with Marchand for local youth hockey programs

Hudson – Avidia Bank recently announced its partnership with Brad Marchand, Boston pro hockey player for “Assists for Kids” program to support local youth hockey programs.  For every assist during the regular season, Avidia Bank will donate $25 up to $30,000 to benefit Massachusetts Youth Hockey Programs in the MetroWest area.

The money raised during the season will go towards new safety equipment like helmets and mouth guards. Avidia Bank will also provide 150 kids in MetroWest Youth Hockey with $150 towards youth savings accounts.  This money will be raised during the season and donated during the summer of 2020.

“Partnering with Marchand to help provide youth hockey programs with the safety equipment and funding they need is something that’s important to us and the game of hockey,” said Mark O’Connell, president and CEO of Avidia Bank. “In addition, we’re happy to help them learn about saving money and financial literacy by providing them with a start to their savings accounts.”

Recently, the bank held a media day to kick off this initiative with the help of 98.5 The Sports Hub. The bank will display an ongoing tally of funds raised as well as more information its website, www.avidiabank.com.
