Northborough – Families got a head start on Halloween by attending the free Truck or Treat held Oct. 19 in the parking lot of the open-air shopping center Northborough Crossing. Treats were also distributed at some of the center’s stores.

Costumed kids were treated to a bag to fill with goodies. DJ Peter provided music while children got behind the wheel of service vehicles and trucks. The town of Northborough supplied vehicles from the fire, police and public works departments. Local businesses displayed trucks.

Mingling among the families were special guests Queen Elsa from the animated film “Frozen” and superhero Captain America. Kids could play several games including cornhole and Connect Four, as well as checkers on an oversized board. Also available were face-painting and a mobile video game theater.
