Westborough – Two Westborough residents, Mike Lawler and Art Sharkey, recently returned from another service mission to Puerto Rico, where they joined a group of four volunteers from Indiana to work on Hurricane Maria recovery projects in Salinas, located on the southern coast.
Their crew of six demolished a house and sourced the supplies for another group from Florida who were set to build the new 20’ X 25’ house in four days.
A second project was the cleaning out of a former school property with 24 classrooms that was closed three years ago and will serve as a future base of operations for Group International, the organization that coordinated the trip.
