Shrewsbury/Worcester – The Kenneth F. Burns Bridge, spanning Lake Quinsigamond, was lit in honor of a hero, fallen Worcester Firefighter Lt. Jason Menard, on Nov. 13. Menard was killed in a four-alarm fire earlier that day as he attempted to rescue a fellow firefighter caught in the blaze. Thousands of first responders from across the country and Canada attended his funeral services Nov. 18 in Worcester.
