Jennifer D. BroquistGrafton – Jennifer D. (Sinclair) Broquist, 47, of North Grafton, MA died unexpectedly on Sunday November 17, 2019.

She was born in Holyoke, spent her early childhood in West Springfield, grew up in Westfield, had a number of apartments in suburban Boston, and owned a condo in Natick before moving to her current home in North Grafton.

Jen was the daughter of Kenn and Kathy Sinclair of Westfield. She graduated from Westfield High School, received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from UMass-Dartmouth, and earned a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Westfield State College.

For more than 20 years she was a federal probation officer working out of offices in Boston and Worcester. She was a very dedicated and conscientious worker and a trusted colleague.

Jen was a thoughtful, caring, loving daughter, sister, wife, daughter-in-law, and friend who immeasurably enriched the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was very family-oriented and was grateful for the companionship and unconditional love of her large, extended family. She loved to shop with her mother, to play Scrabble with her father, to do jigsaw puzzles with her husband, to spend time with her brother and his family, and to share dog-talk and dog-parenting with her mother-in-law.

Jen was a gentle soul, a sentimentalist at heart, and she was generous to a fault. She enjoyed life and took special pleasure in hanging out with friends, going to the Big E, and chowing down on French fries (sometimes having two sides of fries with her entrée).

Jen was predeceased by her aunt, Jan Mutty, her uncle, Mark Mutty, and her husband, the love of her life, James Broquist, who passed away last year from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

From the time Jimmy was first diagnosed to the time when the disease finally claimed his life, Jen was the primary caregiver, rarely leaving his side. She was determined to make sure that Jim got the very best care possible, and she devoted herself selflessly to that goal. She was a truly remarkable wife and caregiver.

Jen is survived by her parents, Kenn and Kathy (Mutty) Sinclair, her mother-in-law, Constance Broquist, her brother Marc Sinclair, her sister-in-law, Lynn Sinclair, two nephews, Martin and Douglas Sinclair, one niece, Anna Sinclair, seven uncles, seven aunts, 22 cousins, and a great many high-school, college, neighborhood, and work friends, as well as her beloved rescue dog, Acadia.

In lieu of flowers, Jen’s family would very much appreciate donations made in her memory to the ALS Association Massachusetts Chapter, 685 Canton Street, Suite 103, Norwood, MA 02062, or online at www.Webma.alsa.org.

All are welcome to gather with Jen’s family and friends Saturday November 23rd from 9-10:30am at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536 followed by the celebration of her Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Church 640 Main St. Shrewsbury, MA 01545. She will then be laid to rest at Mountainview Cemetery in Shrewsbury.
