Westborough – For over two hours, country music singer/songwriter John Rich met, joked and took photos with over 300 people at a special tasting and bottle signing of his signature whiskey, Redneck Riviera, hosted at Julio’s Liquors, Nov. 23.
Shoppers also generously donated canned goods that were donated to Holiday Harvest, a Thanksgiving distribution initiative organized by Veterans Inc. Julio’s Liquors also donated a $1 from the sale of each bottle of Redneck Riviera to Folds of Honor, a veterans’ charity that Rich supports, according to Ryan Maloney, Julio’s owner. The nonprofit organization provides funds for educational scholarships for spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members.
“We had a phenomenal afternoon with Mr. Rich. People got to meet him, try his fantastic whiskey, and by the looks of the sales got some early Christmas shopping done!” Maloney said. “But more important than that, people came together to help out our vets. Veterans Inc. collected food for their Holiday Harvest, as well as donations and we gave back to Folds of Honor with a donation of our own. Everyone wins!”
