Marlborough – A popular holiday tradition continued Nov. 23 when the Marlborough Rotary Club hosted its 37th annual Turkey Shoot in the cafeteria at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School.
Over 200 raffle items were donated by Rotarians and businesses. Among the items were Amazon Echo Dot and Fire Tablet, diamond jewelry, hotel stays, kitchen appliances, restaurant gift cards, sports game tickets, and many turkey baskets with all the fixings. A separate round of raffles offered children’s prizes including bicycles.
Proceeds from the Turkey Shoot will help support the club’s charitable endeavors. A message in the event program from Darlene Trainor, the club’s 98th president, read in part, “The holidays are a joyous time of year, but the needs of our communities know no holidays, and in fact, it’s this time of year that community needs are greatly stretched. It is with that sense of purpose that the Marlborough Rotary Club so greatly appreciates your support, as we work together as a community to serve those in our community.”
