One rescued after early morning crash into Shrewsbury’s Jordan Pond Shrewsbury – Fire Chief James Vuona released this press release this morning:

At 4:28 am, we received a call stating a motor vehicle had crashed into Jordan Pond with an occupant trapped inside. Engine 2 was first to arrive at 4:31. Engine 2 reported that the car had flipped over and was on its roof and was partially submerged in roughly 4 feet of water. Engine 2 personnel entered the water in cold water rescue suits to attempt to open a door and free the occupant. The doors were unable to be opened due to the vehicle’s positioning. Rescue 1 arrived shortly after, and we utilized the vehicles winch to pull the car out of the water. Once the car was on shore, the driver’s side window was broken to release any residual water remaining inside. Engine 3 personnel used the Jaws of Life to extricate the victim through the driver’s door. The patient was removed from the vehicle approximately ten minutes after our arrival. Worcester EMS began treatment on the scene and transported the victim to UMass University. One rescued after early morning crash into Shrewsbury’s Jordan PondOne rescued after early morning crash into Shrewsbury’s Jordan PondOne rescued after early morning crash into Shrewsbury’s Jordan Pond
