Charles B. Jewett Jr.Marlborough – Charles B. Jewett Jr., 83, of Marlborough died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday December 5, 2019 at UMass Memorial Medical Center.  He was the devoted husband of Judith A. (Lombardi) Jewett for the past 59 years.

Born in Ayer, the son of the late Charles B. Jewett, Sr. and Harriet (Thompson) Jewett and was raised in Hudson. After graduating from Hudson High School in 1953, Charlie proudly served our Country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War as a helicopter mechanic. He moved to Marlborough after his honorable discharge.

He worked at Hillside School, and Digital Equipment Corporation as a maintenance mechanic for 19 years retiring in 1990.

He was a lifelong member of the First United Methodists Church in Hudson, the Farm Bureau and the NRA. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and cooking. He had a love of farming and could most recently be seen tagging along with his son Erik as he followed in his footsteps in farming and bee keeping. In 2012, Charlie started knitting hats for the needy, and cancer patients … lots of hats, to the tune of 2000 per year, by hand.

Besides his wife Judy he leaves his son, Erik C. Jewett of Marlborough; one daughter Jodi A. Pirelli, and her husband James of Clinton; a sister Carol Reilly of Marlborough; and his three grandchildren, Charles B. Jewett, III and his twin sister Marissa Lynn Jewett of Marlborough and Samantha K. Pirelli of Clinton.
