Region – Recently, for the second year in a row the Massachusetts Elite football teams won their way into the Elite 8 of the FBU National Championship. The concluding rounds of the tournament will take place in Naples, Fla. beginning on Monday, Dec. 16.  All three teams competed in and won their Northeast regional bracket games, which were held in Holmsdel, N.J. Nov. 30 and Dec. 1.

“We are very proud of our teams,” said Mass Elite co-owner PJ Vande Rydt. “Our players have worked very hard to get to this point. We have 119 young men from 33 cities and towns across Massachusetts and represent a true cross section of football leagues and school programs.

Marco DiPlacido of Hudson, is heading down to his third National Championship with his Team, West Boylston Youth football. The team won the Division 1 Superbowl and squared off against Mansfield in the State finals before heading into the FBU National Championship with Team Mass.

“I can’t wait to take on Dallas and show off our Massachusetts,” Marco said.

Marco is in the eighth grade at Hudson High School and aspires to play Division 1 football in college.

The team is currently fundraising to help pay for expenses. To donate contact Vande Rydt at 781-983-2501 or [email protected].
