Westborough – The Westborough wastewater treatment plant has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s New England Division as a Wastewater Treatment Plant of the Year for the facility’s outstanding record of safe, reliable operations. The plant, which is operated and maintained on behalf of the town by Veolia North America, will receive the Regional EPA Operations and Maintenance Excellence Award at the New England Water Environment Association’s annual awards luncheon Jan. 29 in Boston.

According to a statement: “The facility was nominated by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection to acknowledge the outstanding work that has been performed over the years by you and your staff. The award and acknowledgement … are well-deserved.”
