Gertrude NewcombMarlborough – Gertrude “Trudy” Ann (Robertson) Newcomb, 75, of Marlborough, died Wednesday January 22, 2020 at Milford Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary (MacDonald) Robertson from Sydney, Nova Scotia.

Trudy worked at Nanmac corp. in Holliston for over 40 years before her retirement in 2014.

Trudy always put other people first and loved spending time with her family, and the love of her life for the past 9 years, Martin Ploof of Hopkinton. Marty and Trudy travelled to Germany, Italy, Switzerland, took cruises to Alaska and Nova Scotia. Trudy and Marty also loved to spend time together laughing with each other, eating and drinking wine while playing cards and taking weekend trips to Maine.

Besides Marty, she is survived by her daughters, Jeanette (MacLellan) Sullivan and her husband Richard of Upton, Donna (MacLellan) Padula and her husband Marcus of Marlborough, Carol MacLellan and Paul Tunnera of Marlborough, her son, Kenneth MacLellan of Marlborough, her sister, Joan Krombholz and her husband Klaus of Vancouver, BC, her brothers, Donald Robertson of Sydney, Nova Scotia, Alan Robertson and his wife Margaret of Sydney, Nova Scotia, David (Phonse) Robertson and his wife Doreen of Toronto, Ontario, and Lawrence Robertson of Sydney, Nova Scotia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brenna Falconi of Marlborough, Shane Sullivan and his wife Daniela of Upton and Collin and Mia Tunnera, both of Marlborough as well as many nieces and nephews. Also Marty’s family, Jennifer Kane and her husband Evan of Hopkinton, Julie Uthoff and her husband Jim of Uxbridge and their children. Trudy was predeceased by her sister, Rosemary (Robertson) Smith and her brothers John (Jack) Robertson and Terrance Robertson.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 27, 2020 from 10:00 – 11:30 AM at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 in the funeral home following visitation hours.

Trudy was well known as a compassionate, selfless, and endearing person who always saw the good in people. Trudy will live on in all the lives she has blessed. She will be truly missed. We love you more momma!
