Shrewsbury Police seek alleged bank robber

Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Police Department released this statement this evening: On Friday, February 21st, 2020 at 5:24 PM the Shrewsbury Police responded to a Bank Robbery at Avidia Bank located at 23 Maple Avenue in Shrewsbury. Upon arrival the Shrewsbury Police determined the lone suspect had fled the scene on foot. Shrewsbury Police, Uxbridge K-9 and Shirley Dept. Of Correction K-9 searched the area for several hours but the suspect eluded Police.

The Shrewsbury Police investigation has determined the suspect entered the bank and forcefully demanded money from tellers. No weapon or note was shown. The suspect then fled the bank with an undetermined amount of cash. No employees at the bank were injured.

The suspect was described as wearing a green/gray winter jacket with a hood with fur on it. Also was wearing black gloves, black ski mask, blue jeans and black boots. (photo attached)
