Hudson – Donald W. Olson, 77, of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully at Marlborough Hospital, on Thursday, February 20, 2020.
Donald was born in Concord, NH on July 18, 1942, a son of the late Gunner T. and Emily B. (Hall) Olson. He was raised in New Boston, New Hampshire, and graduated from West High School in class of 1960 in Manchester NH. He subsequently enlisted in the United States Navy, honorably serving his Nation.
Donald later earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from New Hampshire College and went onto work for Saint Anselm College in Goffstown NH, Northfield Mount Hermon School in Northfield MA and the City of Framingham MA, before eventually retiring. He had resided in Hudson, MA for the past 15 years. He had many hobbies including coin collecting, golfing, gardening, bird watching, cooking and baking.
Donald is survived by 2 children, Kimberly Lynn Hong and her husband Chuong of Matthews, N.C. and William D. Olson of Manchester, N.H.; a brother Jonathan Olson and two grandchildren, Kaylee and Mason Hong. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Theodore Olson, Robert Olson and Richard Olson.
A period of calling hours will be held from 4 pm until 7 pm on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA; immediately followed by a funeral service at 7 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later time.
